Riverside is the center of the Metrolink commuter rail system. Inland Empire-Orange County lines and Riverside 91 serve the city on weekdays, and Inland Empire-Orange County lines and San Bernardino on weekends.

Metrolink station is approx one mile outside of the city center and is served by CommuterLink 212, 208 and 210, and RTA 1 and16.

Metrolink commuter rail stations - La Sierra and Downtown Riverside. The Inland Empire- Orange County serves these two rail stations, while the Riverside Line serve the Downtown station on weekdays and on weekends, the Downtown station is served by the San Bernardino.

Riverside Transit Agency is the major public transit authority in Riverside. It offers buses service on about 36 fixed routes in the city. It also provides eight express commuter services and some community-based trolley bus service in the city.
